Limequat Cultivation

Limequat by the name scientifically called Citrus floridana is a hybrid plant from crossing between Mexican lime and kumquat. Growth of this product is in the tropical and subtropical regions. Right now, this product is produced in Australia, Japan, Israel, Spain, Malaysia, South Africa, America and Britain.

Suitable degree for its growth is 10 to 40 °C, sometimes it is resistant in 45 °C. Limequat`s trees are so productive with the height of about 2 meters.

Its fruit is very small with an average diameter of 3 to 4 cm. Each citrus tree in the greenhouse in the proper conditions can bear up to 70 kg of fruit per year.

Limequat`s acidity and vitamin c and antioxidants content is same as even little higher than Mexican limes and it`s resistance against cold weather is the same as kumquats.
