Fish Culturing in Cage in the Caspian Sea
In recent years, Iranian Fisheries authorities given the Supreme Leader’s recommendation to raise sturgeons, salmon, carp, and trout in the Caspian Sea and in the marine cages has exerted this recommendation in its program and the past 4 years culturing of these fish in numerous cages in the Caspian Sea and the Persian Gulf, water behind the dams has been provided by the public and private sectors. The purpose of these projects is to make optimal use of water resources and potential seas and dams and to increase the quality and quantity of fish production in the country.
Cage fish farming is underway in other countries, including European countries. This breeding method has been used in a variety of cages and in consecutive cages for breeding fish species, especially salmon and trout.
The Department of Fisheries of Mazandaran Province in Mahmudabad city with the design of a colony in 14-farm-500-ton infrastructure has provided the production of 7,000 tons of sturgeon, sea salmon, sea carp and trout which will provide food and supply to foreign and domestic markets will also have a significant increase in the number of jobs. It is not hidden to anyone that fish in the sea are both better in taste and quality than freshwater fish.
In addition to this important project, Lazir Agro Industrial Complex’s officials, with the delivery of farm No. 12 in East Mahmudabad colony, have put in place the cultivation of 500 tons of the above species in the near future programs, and at the same time equipping and setting up cages in for the near future fish farming in the cage.
We can by specialized technical planning, while raising the desired fish species, especially beluga, stellate, as well as sea carp and trout in marine cages, both in higher quality and in direct supply to the real consumer, indeed have a significant stake in the cultivation and supply of fellow citizens’ food, as well as employment and entrepreneurship; and in addition to extracting caviar and exporting it to the target countries, bring foreign exchange to our dear country.
